USB plant b&m
Description
The USB unit is connected directly to the hub dynamo and utilises the generated energy by providing 5V voltage and up to 1A current.
An integrated buffer battery ensures that the power supply remains constant even when travelling slowly or making short stops.
Specification:
Stable 5V output for USB devices
- Integrated buffer battery for uninterrupted power supply
- Ideal for charging and operating smartphones, GPS devices, MP3 players and much more
- Compact design, easy mounting on the hub dynamo
- To fully charge the buffer battery, approx. 20 minutes of riding above 17 km/h are required - without a USB device connected and with the lights switched off.
- The USB unit is not a mains charger: it supplies end devices with power, but can only slow down the discharge of power-hungry devices.
- At low speeds, the dynamo power (approx. 3 W at 15 km/h) is often not sufficient to charge the buffer battery and a device at the same time.
- Some mobile phones require up to 5 W, which can lead to charging interruptions.
🔄 Comparison with the E-WERK
- The E-WERK delivers a higher output as it does not have an integrated buffer battery.
- A separate buffer battery is required for sensitive devices with the E-WERK - however, this is not compatible with the USB-Werk.
