The Surly Karate Monkey is a versatile 29" steel hardtail made from robust Surly 4130 chromoly. Sturdy, comfortable and extremely durable – perfect for touring, trails and bikepacking.
This build has been specifically optimised for reliability, comfort and modern trail performance.

Karate Monkey – Versatile hardtail mountain bike

The Karate Monkey offers a robust, lively ride on challenging terrain. The versatile frame is the perfect basis for your personalised setup – according to our maths whizz ‘Thor’, there are around 487 possible configurations.

Originally designed as a 29er and a pioneer of the 29-inch movement, the current version is equally impressive as a 27.5+ bike. The choice is yours – the main thing is that you have fun.
